Shahab Hosseini to stage play in Tehran

Iran actor Shahab Hosseini, internationally known for collaborations with noted Iranian director Asghar Farhadi in ‘About Elly’, ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman’, is to stage a theater play.

The play titled ‘Confession’ featuring veteran Iranian screen and stage actor Ali Nasiriyan will be performed at Tehran City Theater in the Iranian capital some time in June, a report said.

Ali Nasiriyan began his acting career with theater in 1952. He made his cinematic debut with ‘The Cow’ (1969), setting foot on the path to becoming one of the most renowned and popular Iranian actors.

‘Confession’ is the second theater project by Hosseini before directing ‘Meeting’ play in the previous years.

Shahab Hosseini has won the best actor award at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival for his role in Asghar Farhadi’s ‘The Salesman’ (2016). 

Hosseini has appeared in other movies such as 'This Woman Won't Talk' (2002), 'Poisonous Honey' (2002), 'Ziggurat Goddess' (2003), 'Loneliness' (2007), 'Anahita' (2009), 'The Final Whistle' (2012), 'The Five-Star' (2013), 'The Resident of the Middle Floor' (2013) and 'Time to Love' (2014).
